Hi guys! Have you ever wondered where coffee comes from?

Well, as you all know coffee is  a high in demand beverage consumed by millions all over the world. But, have you ever wondered about the origins of this energizing not to mention addicting drink?

Coffee begins its journey as red cherries that grow on trees before they are roasted and boiled, making them into a substance known as “qahwa” or what the Europeans call it, “the wine of Islam”.

It was originally drank by the Arabs before it is distributed to Europe through the port of Venice. In 1607, coffee is introduced to the New World now known as America by Captain John Smith, then it is introduced in Jamaica in 1730.

From there, coffee plants were slowly shipped and planted in other countries such as Guatemala and are imported to Costa Rica from Cuba before it gained popularity in France (1822) when the first prototype of an espresso machine was created.

So, there you go guys. Hope you find it interesting.

Until next time. See ya!
